John Keeves
John is a corporate lawyer and experienced company director. He also has a portfolio of early stage technology investments, principally in software.
He has over 30 years’ experience advising on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and securities law, with a focus on public markets M&A and major projects. He is co-head of the Johnson Winter Slattery Board Advisory and Governance practice, and previously led the JWS Transactions and Advisory practice.
He advises Australian and international corporates and their directors and senior managers in a range of industry sectors, including technology, financial services, energy and resources and biotechnology.
John has been recognised in Corporate/M&A by Chambers and APL500. John has been named by Best Lawyers as one of Australia’s leading lawyers in the areas of M&A, Corporate Law, Corporate/Governance, Equity Capital Markets, Venture Capital Law. Energy Law and Oil and Gas Law.
John is a former Chair of the Executive of the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, former Chair of the Council of Prince Alfred College, an Honorary Life Member of Finsia, and a former member of the Australian Takeovers Panel (2006 – 2015) and the CALDB (2004 – 2014).
